Jacky BamBam’s Rock N’ Roll Sunday Matinee with Record Riots!

I just *have to* share the insanely fun time I had over the weekend at Record Riots’ vinyl sale!

This pop-up event for music fans, enthusiasts and collectors like me had everything, and I mean EVERYTHING! 12 inch vinyl records, 45’s, CD’s, cassettes, reel to reels, posters. You name it and the place had it! These conventions typically feature a YUGE variety of archives from different genres including rare, vintage, and collectible albums. The memorabilia is unreal.

The first real RECORD RIOT took place on June 29, 2008 in Brooklyn, NY at the Polish-American club, Warsaw, in Greenpoint. The world was way different way back then, as Brooklyn did not have its own regularly-scheduled record show, and the Brooklyn Record Riot made quite a mark, with over 900 frantic attendees on that June afternoon. Things were just getting under way… They now pop up in Philly!

I spent a mighty fine time crate digging with the cool kids and of course I walked out with way too many forms of multimedia (How could I not?!) and more than a few promises to come join the next pop up! Record Riots’ next local event is at the South Street Vinyl Block Party on Saturday, May 3rd!

A huge thanks to Steve from Record Riots for being so enthusiastic and welcoming! Can’t wait to catch this jawn again in May, on the Street that never sleeps! I can’t share enough how every music lover I know needs to follow these events! It’s such a tight knit community of long time collectors that have the genuine gems! The good stuff!
