Pierre’s Playlist: Women’s History Month 2025

Pierre’s month long playlist of artists he celebrated during Women’s History Month

Women Who Rock

International Women’s Day / Women’s History Month

Each weekday during his Planner segment, Pierre Robert first goes over what national day it has been declared. Sometimes they could be silly and nonsensical. Other times they could be more impactful to raise awareness or celebrate a specific group. Not only does each day have some representation but every month has some extended celebration as well.

The month of March for example is Women's History Month celebrating the amazing contributions of women in all facets of life. With that in mind our incredible Program Director Chuck Damico had a brilliant idea. He challenged Pierre to celebrate the incredible women of "Everything That Rocks" with a Work Force Block each weekday in March.

With creative freedom and plenty of patent-pending musical "left turns" Pierre did just that! Each weekday he celebrated all the women who Rock AND ROLL with special block at noon each week day. Everything from Halestorm and Dorothy, to Fleetwood Mac and Joan Jett (and yes even an appearance from The Weather Girls). Below is the rundown of the massive musical journey that was undertaken as we celebrate these incredible women.

From roughly 10:30am to somewhere around 3 (we call it Pierre Standard Time) weekdays Philadelphia rocks with (and loves) Pierre Robert on WMMR. Pierre Robert began his illustrious career at the pioneering progressive rock station KSAN, in his hometown San Francisco, but it’s through his uninterrupted 42-year tenure at Philadelphia‘s legendary WMMR that he’s made his mark. One of the city’s most recognizable celebrities will write about being at the center of its live music scene and greeting his legions of fans as if personal friends in the smallest clubs and largest stadiums.
