Consumer Affairs recently named one Delaware County town as one of the best places to move to in Pennsylvania.
Drexel Hill took the No. 2 spot in Consumer Affairs' Pennsylvania cities list. Editors of the consumer advocacy website noted the following about Drexel Hill's appeal:
"Drexel Hill, a prominent neighborhood within Upper Darby, less than 10 miles from downtown Philadelphia, stands out for its urban convenience. It is highly walkable and offers a strong economy, on top of being a short driving distance from several major cities, including New York and Washington, D.C."
Consumer Affairs ranked Drexel Hill third overall for its economy. It has the second-highest average job growth between 2019 and 2024 (4.1%) and the fifth-lowest share of the population living below the poverty line (8%).
Approximately 94% of the town's residents live within a 10-minute walk to a park — the ninth-highest percentage on the Consumer Affairs list. The community also ranks seventh for health care access, with approximately 28.7 health care professionals per 1,000 residents.
According to its website, Consumer Affairs evaluated the state's 25 largest cities based on five factors: affordability, safety, economic strength, health care and education, and quality of life.
