The Chester County Hospital, part of Penn Medicine, has earned a spot on Premier's 100 Top Hospitals rankings for 2025. The hospital, located in West Chester, ranked No. 14. This year is the fourth year the hospital has been named to Premier's 100 Top Hospitals list.
In addition to the Chester County Hospital, the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania and Penn Presbyterian Medical, both also part of Penn Medicine, and St. Luke's Upper Bucks Campus, part of the St. Luke's University Health Network, also made Premier's list.
According to Premier, the annual rankings used to determine the top hospitals in the nation are based on several criteria, including clinical outcomes, operational efficiency, patient experience, and financial health. This year, researchers studied 2,599 short-term, acute-care, and non-federal hospitals in the country.
The hospitals that made the 100 Top list for 2025 saw significantly better outcomes, according to Premier. These outcomes include the following:
- 39% fewer inpatient deaths
- 26.5% fewer cases of patient complications
- 32% drop in health-care-associated infections
- 18% lower costs per inpatient discharge
According to the Chester County Hospital's website, the hospital offers inpatient and outpatient medical and surgical services. These services include interventional heart and vascular services; open heart surgery; advanced spine surgery; general, orthopaedic, and oncology surgery; oncology; radiation oncology; and maternal and infant health services.
