After seven years of serving Center City diners, Del Frisco's Grille will shutter its doors later this summer. The restaurant is located on the ground floor of the Cambria Hotel Philadelphia at Broad and Locust streets.

Del Frisco's lease is expiring and will not be renewed, a manager confirmed with the PhillyVoice on Tuesday, June 3. The restaurant is set to close at the end of July or early August. A layoff notice released by the Pennsylvania Department of Labor & Industry stated that 51 employees working at the establishment will be impacted.

According to a PhillyVoice report, the Del Frisco's Grille chain is owned by Landry's Inc. The firm owns the Double Eagle Steakhouse and McCormick & Schmick's Seafood & Steaks at 1 S. Broad St. These two restaurants are not affected by the closure of Del Frisco's Grille.

The manager at the Philadelphia location stated that employees will be presented with opportunities to transfer to other restaurants owned and operated by Landry's Inc. in the Philadelphia region.

Del Frisco's Grille opened in December 2018 as the casual sister restaurant to Del Frisco's Double Eagle Steakhouse. The latter has operated on the ground floor of the First Pennsylvania Bank building at 15th and Chestnut streets since 2008.

Del Frisco's Grille focuses its menu on American cuisine and seafood, along with a rotating cocktail menu. The Cambria Hotel, owned by developer Pearl Properties, did not respond to a question about what would fill the restaurant space soon to be vacated by Del Frisco's Grille.
