Formula 1 racing has been enjoying a significant rise in popularity, and a new business concept is further catapulting the venture forward with fans.
F1 Arcades has been opening franchises around the country for racing fans to experience one of the most thrilling sports in the world, including here in Philadelphia.
Earlier in June, F1 Arcade's newest location at 1330 Chestnut St. in Center City hosted its grand opening. Hundreds of Philadelphians attended the event to explore the new facility and attraction. While the experience is Formula 1-themed, those within the F1 Arcade world state that even non-fans should try it out for themselves.
"This is F1 all year round, but you don't have to be into it to have a blast," Liz Norris, vice president of U.S. launch strategy and communications of F1 Arcade, told The U.S. Sun. "So just getting in one of these cars or the simulators, you shake, you crash, you spin out. We had a couple here yesterday pushing each other to distract. Team racing is so interactive."
According to The U.S. Sun's report, the experience at F1 Arcade delivers the full impact of Formula 1 in person sandwiched into one venue. The company said it wants to give fans an experience like what they would receive as a VIP at a real-life race.
"We'll have the comfort dishes like a burger or a flatbread, but we also do raw ahi tuna, tartare, scallops, oysters, etc.," Norris added. "So you can experience a little bit of what it would feel like to be in the paddock club."
In addition to Philadelphia, F1 Arcade has two other locations in Boston and Washington, D.C. Future expansion plans include installing F1 Arcades in cities such as Atlanta, Denver, and Las Vegas.
