The 29th Friends Helping Friends charity fundraiser at Boscov's kicks off on October 22nd. This one-day push could bring $3.4 million to community groups.
"We hope to partner with even more local non-profits this year and surpass last year's record-setting fundraising results, which helped 3,400 non-profits raise $3.4 million in donations," said Jim Boscov, chairman and CEO of Boscov's, according to the Reading Eagle.
The event runs from dawn to late night - 8am to 11pm. Groups sell $5 passes and keep all funds. Shoppers snag a sweet deal: 25% off already cut prices.
Sign-ups start now through the store's site. After joining, groups pick up passes at their nearest store. The discount works both in-store and online with a special code.
Quick action pays off big. With just 20 active members each selling 20 passes, a group could bank $2,000. The math is simple - more sellers mean more funds for good causes.
Want to sell right in the store? Local managers will find you a spot. They'll give you everything needed - from eye-catching posters to proven sales tips.
This family-owned chain spans nine states with 50 stores. From Pennsylvania to West Virginia, New York to Rhode Island, they serve countless towns. Their biggest presence? Pennsylvania, with 26 stores.
Growth continues as store 51 opens in Greece, New York. Back home in Pennsylvania, eight stores serve shoppers across four counties: Berks, Chester, Delaware and Montgomery.
"Never have our communities needed our support more than they do today," Boscov stated in his video message. The company stays true to its roots in Exeter Township, Berks County.
