Located off Germantown Avenue, Chestnut Hill Market in Philadelphia's Fareway is a cultural and culinary hub. The market's transformation from a modest farmer's meeting point into a vibrant community hub brings a unique blend of local cuisines and international flavors to Fareway.
The transformation spans a period exceeding 20 years. According to Mr. Courtney O'Neill from Chestnut Hill, the market's primary goal is to showcase a rich cultural influence across Fareway.
“It used to be a farmer's market for years”. O'Neill further told CBS Philadelphia, “About 20 years ago, they brought up more of an international flavor and different vendors”.
The newest additions to the market include Liberty Kitchen, which is famous for crafting substantial sandwiches. The eating joint features a menu comprising fresh kale Caesar, crispy Parmesan, and hot tomato pies.
Southern Flames BBQ comes in with its array of choices that includes a secret southern blend of spices. Visitors can enjoy hot coffee just next to fresh sushi stations or have bowls of simmering noodles under this one roof. Chestnut Hill Brewing Company at the far corner serves drinks accompanied by wood-fired pizzas right from hot ovens.
Chestnut Hill Market at Philadelphia's Fareway is a mini Reading Terminal Market for slow dining and shop-hopping that offers a shared experience. The market operates five days a week starting on Wednesday all the way to Sunday.
