The Philadelphia Fringe Festival returns this September with a dynamic weeklong slate of programming and more acts than in previous years.

More than 320 events will be presented throughout various neighborhoods from Sept. 4 to 28 to accommodate a more extensive Festival Hub program.

Sponsored by FringeArts, the 29th annual festival will feature international and local artists with choreographed dances, video game storytelling exhibits, world premieres of theatrical shows, and more. The lineup includes a "Weathering" performance art piece, which garnered an Obie Award in 2024 and will make its Philadelphia appearance at the FringeArts building, 140 N. Columbus Blvd., from Sept. 4-6.

According to Philly Voice, three new venues will join the Fringe Festival's location lineup: North Philly's Dumb Hub, West Philly's Studio 34, and Easy Passyunk's Sawubona Creativity Project. Circus Campus in West Mount Airy and several additional venues sponsored by the Cannonball Festival will also support festival programming.

Members of the general public can reserve tickets to the festival beginning Friday, July 18.

Among the festival's lineup of flagship events is a Zimbabwean-inspired project called Dambudzo by Nora Chipaumire. Through this work, Chipaumire explores the ideas of cultural identity and colonial legacies. Additional works include the play La Otrawritten and directed by award-winning Philly performing artist Tanaquil Márquez. The production's storyline centers around three Colombian sisters who assemble in Bogota to celebrate their father's 80th birthday.
