Members of the public are invited to explore a new art exhibition, “Kathy Anne English: Painting America,” during Third Friday at the Riverfront Renaissance Center for the Arts, 22 N. High St. in Millville, New Jersey. An artist reception will be held today, Friday, July 18, from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. The reception will include live music from Andy Dimacale.

English's 50 paintings of 50 state parks will be featured in the center's main gallery. English, a self-taught watercolor artist, conceived this painting concept when she was 20 years old as a project for later in her life. She and her husband spent four years and took five cross-country road trips in the quest to paint some of their favorite landscapes and wildlife across the 50 states. The exhibition will feature an artist's information session for each experience; a video of her journey will be shown during Third Friday.

In the Witt Gallery, visitors can explore “Cumberland County on Canvas.” The Cumberland County Cultural & Heritage Commission will make awards in its biannual open call for artists to enter artwork depicting scenes from around the county. Awards will be presented at 7 p.m. for first, second, third, and honorable mentions. The top three pieces will receive cash rewards. Winning artists will have their art purchased for the county's art collection, which is displayed in county buildings.

In the Artist Alcove, visitors will have the opportunity to experience the work of Teresa Makani and Alice (Tati) Soto, both of whom met while attending classes at the Barn Studio of Art.
