Teachers' Teammates, a nonprofit that provides free school supplies to under-resourced schools in Delaware County, marked a major milestone for the 2024-2025 school year. The organization distributed more than $1 million in donated supplies to students and teachers during the 2024–2025 school year.
In addition to celebrating this achievement, Teachers' Teammates is debuting a new public outreach effort to support students and teachers, the Teachers' Teammates Bins.
The bins are at the center of a new campaign called Back-To-Bin Season: Stock The Bin, School's Almost In. This initiative allows businesses and individuals to partner with the organization to help prepare students to go back to school.
Businesses that agree to house donation bins become “bin buddies.” Individuals and families who drop off supplies become “teachers' teammates.”
“Our goal is to make giving as easy and impactful as possible,” said Raelyn Harman, Teachers' Teammates founder and executive director, in a statement shared with the Daily Times. “If you can drop off a pack of glue sticks or markers, you're officially a teammate, and you're helping a student walk into school with confidence.”
According to the Daily Times, Teachers' Teammates serves 86 schools in Delaware County, supporting educators in schools where approximately 65% of students qualify for the National School Lunch Program.
Currently, Enterprise Car Rental and the Haverford YMCA have become among the first official bin buddies for Teachers' Teammates. Visit the organization's website to view a map of all donation bin locations and a list of most-needed school supplies.
