The Children's Hospital of Philadelphia's (CHOP) Cardiac Center has announced the opening of a Berks County satellite facility to treat pediatric patients with acquired and congenital heart diseases.
Dr. Louis Hansrote, a pediatric cardiologist, and the team from CHOP's Cardiac Center in Allentown will oversee the new center at 5101 Allentown Pike in Muhlenberg Township, officials noted in a news release. Patients will be seen at the center on the second Thursday of every month.
CHOP's new center will offer cardiology clinic visits for new and existing patients and non-invasive cardiac tests such as echocardiography, electrocardiography, and Holter tests.
“We are humbled and excited to expand our access and be able to offer CHOP's world-class pediatric cardiac services in a convenient location for families in the Reading community,” said Dr. Vivek Allada, medical director of outpatient and community cardiology at CHOP, in a news release shared with the Reading Eagle. “This outpatient clinic, supported by Dr. Hansrote and the entire Allentown team, will allow families who rely on us to get the same incredible heart care closer to home.”
CHOP's Cardiac Center treats patients at 16 outpatient locations throughout Pennsylvania and New Jersey within the CHOP Care Network. Learn more about CHOP's cardiac care services online.
