Prepare to be captivated by the tales of knights and knaves, lords and ladies, as the Pennsylvania Renaissance Faire returns for a 45th season.
The faire is an ideal road trip from the Philadelphia region. It's held in Manheim, Lancaster County, at 2775 Lebanon Road, every Saturday and Sunday now through Oct. 26. Every weekend carries a different theme with different activities, plus an overarching story that involves the faire's cast of characters.
Meet Queen Elizabeth, who is looking for a successor to the throne. Will it go to her cousin, Lady Arbella Stuart, or James Stuart, otherwise known as King James VI of Scotland?
In addition to these royal personalities, several new elements are in store for this year, including Bard City and Colin Campbell, according to Lancaster Online. New food options will feature Dubai strawberries and spicy Asian pork belly. Guests will also discover new pourhouses, a new food booth, and new beverages, said Candace Smith, a spokesperson for the Pennsylvania Renaissance Faire.
