The Museum of the American Revolution will celebrate the Labor Day holiday weekend by offering free admission for children 12 and younger from Saturday, Aug. 30, through Monday, Sept. 1. Along with this special admission offer, the museum is also hosting family-friendly programming throughout the weekend.

Highlights of the schedule include the following:

First-Person Performances

Meet Chris Roche, who will portray Continental Army soldier Joseph Plumb Martin on Saturday, Aug. 30, and Sunday, Aug. 31, at 1:15 p.m. and 3:15 p.m. On Monday, Sept. 1, Katelyn E. Appiah-Kubi will portray Elizabeth Freeman, a Massachusetts woman who successfully sued for her freedom, at 1:15 p.m. and 3:15 p.m.

Each day at 11:30 a.m., museum educators will offer guided discussions in the Declaration of Independence gallery about how Revolutionary ideals inspired individuals such as Elizabeth Freeman and William Findley to champion equal rights.

Meet the Revolution: Daniel Sieh

Join living historian Daniel Sieh on Saturday, Aug. 30, to learn more about the roles of Asians in 18th-century America. 

Revolution Place

Explore the museum's interactive discovery center. Here, families can explore historical models of 18th-century settings, including a home, military camp, and tavern.

Unpack a Sea Chest

Each day at 2:30 p.m., visitors can climb aboard the museum's replica sloop to listen to stories of privateers, prisoners of war, and sailors during the American Revolution.

All programs are included with general admission. Children younger than 12 receive free entry with an adult in-person ticket purchase.
