American Idol Launches Virtual Auditions for Season 24

American Idol Season 24 will officially kick off its virtual auditions in the Northeast, starting with New Jersey and Pennsylvania on September 4th and continuing with Delaware on September 19th. This year's auditions, part of "Idol Across America," offer a convenient way for singers to showcase their talent from the comfort of their own homes while connecting with real program producers over Zoom.

Patrick Lynn, Senior Supervising Producer, explains that this process begins with a virtual meeting, in which hopefuls present their best song and performance to a show producer. Contestants who stand out are quickly advanced to audition before the Executive Producer, who determines which singers will perform for judges Luke Bryan, Lionel Richie, and Carrie Underwood.

Producers advise participants to select a strong song, deliver it with full confidence, and avoid holding back due to nerves. Lynn encourages everyone to let go of reservations and sing authentically, reminding applicants that nerves are natural but should not prevent them from chasing their dreams.

"I have three things that I tell people - pick a good song, sing a good song and perform a good song. What happens with a lot of people, and this is something I also stress, is they come in and they get a little bit too reserved, so they hold back. My thing is, do not hold back. Let it all hang out. Just kind of go for it. You never know!" he told 6ABC.com.
