The Burlington County Farmers Market will celebrate Apple Appreciation Day at the Burlington County Agricultural Center, 500 Centerton Road, in Moorestown, New Jersey, on Saturday, Oct. 18, from 8:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. This event will feature a variety of Jersey Fresh apples, apple-themed foods, and family-friendly activities.

At least five of the 20 farm vendors expected to participate will sell a variety of Jersey Fresh apples, including Gala, Fuji, Honeycrisp, and Granny Smith, alongside other apple products such as hard ciders and apple ales. These farms include Black Sheep Farm, Cranberry Hall Farm, Folks Farm Market, Jams Durr Farm, and Robson's Farm.

Visitors can enjoy activities such as cooking demonstrations, cookie decorating, an apple toss game, and free apple basket giveaways. Food vendors will offer special apple-themed dishes and drinks, including free samples of apple pie ice cream, cider, and cobbler. Children who come to the market in Halloween costumes will receive a free apple.

The Apple Appreciation Day event will also feature arts and crafts vendors, live music by The Classic Rock Band, a petting zoo with rabbits from the 4H Carrot Club, and various baked goods and treats from market vendors.

“The Burlington County Farmers Market is a must-visit destination throughout spring, summer, and fall, and special events like Apple Appreciation Day offer a little extra excitement and family fun,” said Burlington County Commissioner Deputy Director Allison Eckel, the liaison to the Department of Resource Conservation, Parks, and Farmland Preservation.

According to a Burlington County media announcement, in 2024, the market was named New Jersey's favorite farmers market during the American Farmland Trust's annual poll. This year, it finished No. 2 in New Jersey and No. 3 in the Northeast. Earlier this year, the market was also named No. 4 in the nation in USA TODAY's 10 Best Readers' Choice Awards.

Now in its 19th season, the market operates rain or shine every Saturday from early May through Nov. 22, with additional days in March, April, and a holiday market in December. Learn more on the market's website or follow the market on Facebook.
