NOIR CITY: Philadelphia will take place at The Colonial Theatre in Phoenixville from Nov. 14 to 16. This experience will offer a three-day festival dedicated to classic Hollywood noir and its leading women.

The lineup includes film classics such as The Narrow Margin, Ace in the Hole, and Caged, showcasing film noir's tension, glamour, grit, and its enduring appeal.

Tickets start at $25 for individual screenings, $40 for double features, and $206 for a weekend pass that grants access to all 10 screenings. All films will be screened in The Colonial's 1903 Theatre, a setting that evokes the era of classic noir cinema.

Audience members will be treated to three rarely screened titles — Hell's Half Acre (1954), Alias Nick Beal (1949), and Max Ophüls' The Reckless Moment (1949). Viewers will also enjoy The Prowler (1951), which will be restored in 35mm by the Film Noir Foundation and UCLA Film & Television Archive.

Eddie Muller, host of Turner Classic Movies' Noir Alley and founder of the Film Noir Foundation, serves as the curator for NOIR CITY: Philadelphia. “The contributions of these actresses are a major reason noir has retained its allure through many subsequent generations,” Muller said to MyChesCo. “For younger fans … this will be the first time they've seen many of these movies — and certainly the first time on a big screen with an enthusiastic audience.”

This year's theme, “Women of Classic Film Noir,” spotlights actresses such as Ella Raines, Ruth Roman, and Jane Sterling to illustrate the genre's moral ambiguity and its exploration of desire.

The Colonial Theatre, a regional nonprofit arts venue that draws more than 70,000 visitors annually, is renowned for its history and signature events, such as Blobfest. Visit the theatre's website for more information.
