The Walnut Street Theatre will stage A Christmas Story: The Musical, running from Tuesday, Nov. 18, to Sunday, Jan. 4, 2026. Audiences can watch early previews starting Nov. 18 before the show officially opens on Wednesday, Nov. 26.

The musical features Ralphie Parker in 1940s Indiana, who wants nothing more for Christmas than a Red Ryder BB gun. Familiar moments, such as the pink bunny pajamas, the flagpole dare, and the visit to the department-store Santa, are all part of the performance, complemented by an imaginative musical score.

According to PhillyVoice, two local actors, Tyler Jai Knowles and Raphael Sommer, will share the role of Ralphie, with other local performers also featured in the production.

Accessible performances will include open captioning on Sunday, Nov. 30; a program with audio description on Thursday, Dec. 11; and ASL interpretation on Friday, Jan. 2. A Kids Night performance is planned for Tuesday, Dec. 2, allowing a child to attend for free with a paid adult ticket.

For tickets and more information, visit the Walnut Street Theatre's website or call 215-574-3550. Walnut Street Theatre is at 825 Walnut St. in Philadelphia.
