If you're looking for a road trip idea from Philadelphia this weekend, head to Lancaster and take part in the Santa Stumble.

The Lancaster Santa Stumble is returning for this holiday season, beginning at 4 p.m. on Friday, Dec. 12. Participants are invited to dress as Santa or his elves for a charity bar crawl across multiple Lancaster venues.

Individuals can enter by donating $10 plus a 75-cent fee to receive a button that grants entry and access to specials at participating bars.

Individuals who purchase buttons online can pick them up at Tellus360, 24 E. King St. in Lancaster, from 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. on Thursday, Dec. 11. Buttons will also be for sale at Woof 'N Tails, 809 New Holland Ave. in Lancaster, and Acorn Acres Wildlife Rehabilitation, 2100 Stone Mill Road in Lancaster, during business hours. These two locations only accept cash for the buttons.

According to an LNP | LancasterOnline report, all funds raised from this event will benefit the Arc Lancaster Lebanon PA, Acorn Acres Wildlife Rehabilitation, Feathered Sanctuary EBR, and Precious Paws Community Cats.

The Santa Stumble, founded in 2009 by Pete Ruggieri, Stephanie Horst, John Hockley, and Joe Gebhard to support mounted patrol horses and police dogs, continues in Ruggieri's memory following his passing in 2023. In addition to its regular December event, Santa Stumble also hosted a summertime edition last June to raise funds for the Lancaster County Community Foundation.
