The Nutcracker Returns to Bucks County: Mid Atlantic Dance Theater Brings Holiday Magic Back to the Stage

The holiday season in Bucks County just got a little more magical! After a six-year hiatus, the Mid Atlantic Dance Theater (MADT) proudly brings back its beloved production of The Nutcracker to the Zlock Performing Arts Center at Bucks County Community College. Performances are set for Saturday, December 20 at 2:00 PM and 7:00 PM, and Sunday, December 21 at 1:00 PM and 6:00 PM in Newtown, PA.

A timeless holiday tradition, The Nutcracker tells the enchanting story of young Clara and her Nutcracker Doll, journeying through a world of swirling snowflakes, battling toy soldiers, and dancing sweets. With Tchaikovsky’s iconic score, stunning costumes, and breathtaking choreography, this production promises to transport audiences to a realm of wonder and joy.

“This is such an incredible opportunity for our young performers to share the stage with professionals,” said Liz Fitchett Jovovich, Executive Director of MADT. “After six years away, we’re thrilled to bring this level of artistry and spirit back to Bucks County—it’s a magical experience that truly captures the season.”

Co-artistic directors Andreas Jovovich and Priscilla Garner, alongside Artistic Advisor Scott Jovovich, have assembled a talented cast of local students and professional dancers for this triumphant return. The production marks MADT’s first full Nutcracker since 2019, adding extra excitement and emotion for both performers and the community.
