The Phoenixville Area Police Department announced that it is hiring new police officers. According to its announcement, the department is expanding its force beyond the current 31 full-time officers and is actively seeking new hires.
The starting annual salary for new officers is $120,430.54, plus full benefits, a pension plan, and tuition reimbursement. Recruitment targets a wide range of roles, including bike unit officers, detectives, SWAT members, crisis negotiators, truck enforcement specialists, in-house instructors, and range personnel.
According to The Patch of Phoenixville, applicants must complete a physical agility test at Phoenixville Area High School on Feb. 1 or Feb. 7, 2026, followed by a written exam on the same day. The remainder of the application process includes an oral examination, a background investigation, a polygraph, a medical examination, and a psychological evaluation.
Applications must be submitted to the Phoenixville Police Department by 3:30 p.m. on Friday, Jan. 16. Interested individuals can pick up an application at the police department or apply online.
