Best Light Shows

  • The Philadelphia Zoo's LumiNature, at 3400 W. Girard Ave. in Philadelphia, features more than 1 million lights illuminating its 42-acre campus for the sixth consecutive year. 
  • Despite Macy's closure, the Wanamaker Light Show, a Philadelphia tradition since 1956 in the Wanamaker Building, has returned thanks to support from Kathryn Ott Lovell and donors. Along with the light display, visitors can enjoy shopping at the Christmas Village in the grand court, as well as the Wanamaker organ performances through Dec. 24.

Best Holiday Bars

Several holiday-themed bars add charm and holiday spirits to the season.

  • As one of Philadelphia's oldest bars, McGillin's Old Ale House, at 1310 Drury St., is likewise decorated with holiday cheer. Festive cocktails include drinks like aPartridge in a Pear Tree, the holiday version of a vodka cranberry. Guests can also enjoy the eggnog martini and a build-your-own poinsettia punch with champagne and cranberry juice.
  • Taqueria Amor on Main Street in Manayunk has become Señor Christmas. Every inch of the bar is a celebration of holiday classics like A Charlie Brown Christmas, The Grinch Who Stole Christmas, and A Christmas Story. Enjoy drinks like the Jack Frost with vodka, Yoo-hoo, heavy cream, and Kailua.

Best Outdoor Experiences

  • Dilworth Park at the base of City Hall features the Rothman Orthopaedics Rink and Cabin open seven days a week through Feb. 22, 2026. The Wintergarden offers encounters with nature, ideal for relaxing and taking in the holiday vibes.
  • Vintner Wonderland at Renault Winery in Egg Harbor City, New Jersey, provides a lovely ice rink, along with chalets, fire pits, and igloos. Louie's Lounge delivers a bar, selfie spots, and Santa's Workshop experience. Guests can also browse vendor huts, a Festival of Trees, and a holiday tree made of wine barrels.

Best Last-Minute Holiday Shopping Destination

  • The King of Prussia Mall, at 160 N. Gulph Road in King of Prussia, has approximately 450 shops, 50 eateries, and some of the best global brands. Eataly opened its first location in the area at the mall, offering an Italian-style experience. Guests can find gifts, eat on the go, or enjoy the sit-down restaurant inside. The King of Prussia Mall is also home to Netflix House, the first immersive entertainment destination that takes guests inside some of the streaming service's top shows.

Best Museum with Holiday Experience

  • Christmas at the Glencairn Museum, 1001 Cathedral Road in Bryn Athyn, features many traditions, artwork, and antiquities. The museum hosts the World Nativities exhibition, featuring nativities depicting the birth of Jesus in various scenes from different cultures.
