Easttown Township in Chester County is offering post-holiday recycling opportunities for holiday decor items.

According to The Patch of Tredyffrin-Easttown, individuals are invited to recycle their unwanted and broken holiday string lights through Monday, Jan. 12. Residents can drop off the lights at a dedicated collection bin outside the main entrance of the Easttown Township Municipal Building, 566 Beaumont Road. Officials emphasize that spools, reels, and other materials should not be placed in the bin.

Holiday lights are not accepted in curbside recycling due to the risk of tangling in sorting equipment and other potential safety hazards.

Live Christmas trees may be set out for yard waste collection on Tuesday, Jan. 13. All trees targeted for recycling must be free of decorations.

Township residents are welcome to recycle bubble wrap, cellophane, air pillows, and plastic bags via the NexTrex Plastic Bag & Film Recycling program at the township building or at the Easttown Library, 720 First Ave. in Berwyn.

Learn more about this plastic bag and film recycling program on the Easttown Township website.
