Hangry Joe’s to Open First South Jersey Restaurant in Sewell

Hangry Joe's Hot Chicken is opening its first South Jersey location in the Washington Center Shoppes in Sewell, Gloucester County. The restaurant will be located at 415 Egg Harbor Road in the Acme Plaza area near Greentree Road.

Hangry Joe's will occupy the former Dickey's BBQ space, placing the establishment among a growing field of hot chicken players, including Dave's Hot Chicken and Asad's Hot Chicken.

This information on Hangry Joe's opening comes from leasing documents and was confirmed with sources familiar with the deal.

The South Jersey launch of Hangry Joe's Hot Chicken taps into a regional appetite for Nashville Hot-style chicken tenders and sandwiches. In addition, the establishment will serve chicken wings, chicken wraps, chicken salad, and a Loaded Mac & Cheese.

As is typical with similar restaurants that serve Nashville Hot chicken, Hangry Joe's Hot Chicken features customizable spice levels, from mild to an extreme “Angry Hot.” According to 42Freeway.com, "Hangry Joe's is saying that their hottest spicy seasoning is so hot (and possibly traumatic to the customer), you will have to sign a waiver before you can go down that super spicy path!"

Hangry Joe's currently operates several locations in Center City Philadelphia and Bala Cynwyd, Pennsylvania, in addition to Dover, Delaware.
