After the Mummers string band competition was postponed on New Year's Day, the 2026 String Band Spectacular is making its way to Lincoln Financial Field.

WFMZ-TV 69News reported that the Philadelphia String Band Association announced that the event will take place Saturday, Jan. 31, at 2 p.m.

City officials and the Mummers Association postponed the New Year's Day event after wind gusts reached 30 miles per hour, forcing officials to call off the competition.

Sam Regalbuto, the president of the Philadelphia Mummers String Band Association, told CBS Philadelphia that officials made the decision after at least one person was hit and injured with one of the props. The injured individual didn't sustain serious injury and is OK, but organizers cited concerns that the wind could have hurt others.

All 14 string bands marched in the Mummers Parade, performing without their recognizable props.

Tickets for the rescheduled competition are now on sale, according to the Philadelphia String Band Association, and are available on Ticketmaster.

WFMZ viewers can watch the competition on Jan. 31 via the station's website, on the 69News app, or through the WFMZ+ app (for Roku, Firestick, Apple TV, and newer Samsung TVs). A broadcast time has yet to be confirmed.
