A new Sheetz is set to open in Royersford on Feb. 12. The grand opening will mark the first for the western Pennsylvania-based convenience store and gas station chain in the Philadelphia region.

The new store will occupy a busy corner of Ridge Pike and Swamp Pike, at 454 W. Ridge Pike, just down the street from an existing Super Wawa. This new Sheetz will also be located near the Limerick Diner.

Construction on the new Sheetz began in early August. According to The Patch of Limerick-Royersford-Spring City, the recognizable Sheetz design is already up, and parts of the interior appear to be built out. As of Monday, Jan. 12, work is continuing on the gas station portion of the property.

Sheetz is currently hiring and anticipates creating approximately 50 new jobs at the Montgomery County location.

Sheetz's opening in February is expected to herald the debut of another Sheetz set to open in the Philly region. According to the Patch report, a location has also been approved for Downingtown. That store will remain open until September, according to a Sheetz representative.

"As Sheetz continues its expansion into communities near its existing footprint, we remain committed to being the best neighbor we can be and delivering the convenience, quality, and service Pennsylvania communities have come to expect from us for more than 70 years," said Nick Ruffner with Sheetz in a statement shared with CBS Philadelphia.

According to the American Customer Satisfaction Index, which included a ranking for convenience stores, neither Sheetz nor Wawa came out on top. They were tied.
