The Pennsylvania Renaissance Faire is casting for its 46th season. If you have what it takes to portray a monarch, you can audition for the role of Queen Elizabeth I and portray the monarch as she would have appeared in 1562.
Those interested in auditioning for the Queen Elizabeth I role should submit a headshot, resume, and a three-minute video audition package to parenfaire.com/queensubmissions by Sunday, March 1.
According to an LNP | LancasterOnline post, video auditions should include a comedic monologue and a folk song performed a cappella. Applicants are also invited to submit reels showcasing fight, dance, and movement experience; an improv or sketch comedy experience; and other styles, as well as vocal or instrumental performance.
In addition to Queen Elizabeth I, auditions are also being held for the Bacchanalian Cast (musical, stunt, and theatrical performances) and the Blackfryar Cast (lifelike Tudor village roles). No prior theater experience is required for Blackfryar. Auditions for the Bacchanalian Cast are set for Feb. 13 and Feb. 22 for the Blackfryar Cast, both in person at Mount Hope Estate.
Rehearsals begin May 30 for the Blackfryar Cast and July 21 for the Bacchanalian Cast and the Queen.
