Registration is now open for the Newtown Shamrock Shuffle 5K, set for Saturday, March 14, at 9 a.m. in Newtown Borough. The event benefits A Love for Life, a nonprofit funding pancreatic cancer research at Penn Medicine's Abramson Cancer Center. Proceeds from the event and a portion of the registration fees help support the cause.
In addition to receiving a percentage of the registration fee, participants can choose to raise additional funds in honor of a loved one.

Registrants will receive a limited edition long-sleeve 2026 race shirt, a custom finisher medal, and perks at local establishments through the end of March. Attendees can also enjoy live music and food specials at the post-race party at Temperance House, including a Shamrock Sunshine cocktail donated by Funding America Mortgage.
Additionally, the event will feature special offers and discounts at numerous local Newtown establishments. Look for upcoming announcements outlining post-race sponsorships and the after-party atmosphere.
Registration is limited, and the race tends to sell out by mid-February. Prospective runners should sign up promptly through this online registration link.
"We are so thankful and excited to be the charity partner for the Newtown Shamrock Shuffle 5K again for 2026," said Christine Edmonds, president of the Newtown-based A Love for Life, in a statement shared with the Patch of Newtown. "Our decade-long connection with Always Advancing/Boss Events has helped us raise over a million dollars for our dedicated team of pancreatic cancer researchers at the Abramson Cancer Center."
Sponsorship opportunities are also open to individuals or companies, with all donations 100% tax-deductible. Interested sponsors should email Edmonds for details.
