Crooked Eye Brewery, at 13 E. Montgomery Ave. in Hatboro, will host a Rock for Hunger fundraiser on Sunday, June 7, from 2 p.m. to 7 p.m., benefiting the Warminster Food Bank. The fundraiser will feature performances by local bands JAB, Swampy Jonez, Blue Flame 6, Krimson Cirkus, and Shakin' Not Stirred. Silvio's Deli will provide a limited menu from 3 p.m. to 6 p.m.
According to a Central Bucks Now report, donations of nonperishable food items are encouraged. One donor has purchased $500 in Silvio's Deli gift certificates to offer a $10 gift certificate to attendees who bring at least one large grocery bag of donated items for the food bank.
Event merchandise includes T-shirts sold for $20, plus a 50/50 raffle and an Eagles season ticket raffle.
Crooked Eye Brewery, founded in 2014 by Jeff Mulherin, Paul Hogan, and Mulherin's father, Paul, has grown from small batches to a seven-barrel system.
“Paul, Jeff, and I are local guys who wanted to provide a space for folks to enjoy craft beer, good food, and good music,” he told Central Bucks Now. “We also want to help out the community whenever we can. When the opportunity came up to host a fundraiser for the Warminster Food Bank, we were happy to step up. We are very proud that Crooked Eye Brewery can contribute to and host this event.”
The Warminster Food Bank serves more than 10,000 people annually in Bucks County and Montgomery County, distributing more than 50,000 pounds of food monthly. It relies on donations and volunteers to accomplish its mission.
The food bank recently relocated to 495 E. County Line Road in Hatboro to expand its capacity to meet the community's rising food demand.
“For many of our neighbors facing food insecurity, the summer months can be especially difficult when school is out and children lose access to free meals,” said Mike Cerino, executive director of the Warminster Food Bank. “We invite the community to come together for great food, beer, and music, while also making a meaningful impact by donating nonperishable items to help ease the burden for local families in need.”
