Morey's Piers has officially reopened for the 2026 season, three weeks ahead of the unofficial start of summer on Memorial Day weekend.

NBC10 Philadelphia reported that crews were running final test cycles on rides at Morey's Piers on Friday, May 1, hours before welcoming visitors for the first time this year.

“It's exciting,” said Kyle Morey, director of marketing for Morey's Piers, in a statement shared with NBC10. “Every spring, you get through the winter. You get through the cold months, and you start to feel the energy pick up in town.”

To prepare for a busy season ahead, Morey's Piers is seeking to fill 1,500 seasonal jobs, according to an  Action News 6abc report. Available positions include ride operators, lifeguards, game operators, and more. Individuals must be 14 years old to apply. More information is available on the Morey's Piers website.

Travel experts say it's not too late to plan a beach getaway. According to Duane Watlington with Vacation Rentals Jersey Shore, places like Long Beach Island, Ocean City, and the Wildwoods remain popular with visitors. Watlington told NBC10 that some property owners have reduced rental rates, with some discounts up to 10%.

“We have an early Memorial Day and a late Labor Day. So there's actually one extra week during the full summer season this year,” Watlington said. “That gives more inventory for everybody to be able to take a look at.”
