Greetings Good Citizens!
I thought it would be fun to share with you some pictures from what turned out to be an amazing evening last Friday, November 25th. The World Cafe was the location where just under 1,000 people gathered in a sold out house to wish the legendary Beru Revue and yours truly a happy 30th anniversary. To say it was festive was an understatement! The evening started with a surprise when Bob Beru brought me on stage and introduced the Fralinger String Band. Beru drummer, Tommy Pinto, is a member and they opened the show with a couple of numbers as Bob and I did the Mummer Strut on the side of the stage! Then Matt Cord brought me on to introduce the first set with Beru. Midway through the first set I even received an audio message from Jerry Blavat, the Geator with the Heater! (you can hear Jerry’s 30th anniversary congratulations to me below) The second set began with Matt Cord bringing out ‘MMR’s Kevin Gunn (who’s been at the station almost as long as I have), along with Jacky Bam Bam and my awesome producer Jason Fehon (you can hear their introductions below). I proposed a toast to the audience and the rest of the evening was underway! I’m very thankful to everyone who showed up and to my dear friends in Beru Revue (Tommy Pinto, Jerry Getz on Bass, Mark Julian Teague and Greg Davis on guitars, Buzz Barkley on keyboards, and the great Bob Beru on lead vocals and dancing). Some celebrations will continue on the air but a thousand thanks for any length of time you personally may have listened to me. ‘MMR has been on for 43 years and I have been lucky enough to be here for 30 of those years. Without you it would not be possible. Merci!
Cheers & Love,
Pierre
