Chef Extraordinaire Marcus Samuelsson stopped by the WMMR Studios to talk about two items that complement each other well, food and music. He was in Philadelphia to promote his new book, The Red Rooster: The Story of Food and Hustle in Harlem, as well as give a tasting of Harlem cuisine at Marc Vetri’s, Osteria. The book is a really fun read as it incorporates stories of real life in Harlem into the recipes. While Chef Marcus was in the studio, we discussed the Harlem cuisine, it’s roots, how it developed and how it has been closely tied to the music of Harlem to this day. You can get more information about Marcus Samuelsson at his website. Also, his restaurant in Harlem, The Red Rooster. @marcuscooks on Twitter and Instagram. Thank you for taking the time to listen,
