Instead of an Artist of the Month for August, we’ve got an event of the month: Brett Fest! This all-ages benefit concert is THIS FRIDAY August 16th at World Cafe Live in Philly and all proceeds go to the family of Brett Talley to assist with his medical expenses. Brett was recently diagnosed with chronic myelogenous leukemia, and the music scene that he has loved and contributed to for years [through his work with Ike, Outset and other bands] has decided to give back and help him out with this show. Click here to purchase tickets.
The lineup includes reunion sets by Ike and Pawnshop Roses, John & Brittany, Matt Duke, The Better Half, and a whole bunch more. Get the full lineup and get tickets in advance on the Facebook event page. Today we played a brand new single from Ike called “The Other Shoe Always Drops” and starting tomorrow [8/15] you can pay what you wish for it on Ike’s Bandcamp page. Proceeds from the download go to the family of Brett Talley as well.
If you cannot make the show and would still like to donate, you can visit www.ikeonline.net. They set up a paypal account where you can donate directly to Brett right on the main page. See you this Friday at World Cafe Live!
