Former Philadelphia Flyer John LeClair called me to talk about a benefit for the Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia that he and Eric Lindros are involved in. The two-day event includes an autograph signing at the Granite Run Mall on December 16th at 6pm. All of the benefit info is below. We also chatted about how he’s playing in the alumni game on New Year’s Eve, the current Flyers roster, and what he’s been up to since he retired.

Eric Lindros and John LeClair Team Up For CHOP:

Eric Lindros and John LeClair are once again gearing up to assist each other for a big goal, this time off the ice, to raise money for The Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia (CHOP).

The two-day event, presented by TD Bank, will commence on Thursday, December 15, with a luncheon at Morton’s The Steak House in Philadelphia, followed by a visit to CHOP where Eric and John will spend quality time with the children. Finally, on Friday, December 16, they will appear at the Granite Run Mall in Media, Pennsylvania, for a public signing from 6PM-8PM.

To join the sponsorship team along with Bauer Hockey and Burgundy Asset Management or information on how to purchase individual tickets to the luncheon and/or mall signing, please visit www.975thefanatic.com. 100% of all proceeds will benefit CHOP.

“I am really looking forward to coming back to Philadelphia and have the opportunity to give back to the community where I began my career. CHOP has always had a special place in my heart and I am excited to contribute to their excellence and spend time with the kids,” said Lindros.

“I feel very fortunate to reunite with Eric for such a great cause. Having remained in the area with my family, I am more than happy to
put together this event to support the place we call home,” said LeClair.

In addition to Eric and John, 97.5 The Fanatic and CHOP are looking forward to this wonderful charity endeavor.

“We are delighted that Eric and John have decided to donate their time to raise funds for CHOP.  They both were great to us during their playing days in Philadelphia and we’re excited to have them back,” said Maureen Mason, Director of Event Fundraising and Community Partnerships for Children’s Hospital.

“We are thrilled to have Eric and John involved with the Fanatic as we present them to the fans through these series of events.  And to do so with proceeds benefiting The Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia makes it truly rewarding,” said Fanatic Program Director, Matt Nahigian.
