I remember going to the Empire Rock Room on a cold Nov. night in 1989 after my band The Dogtown Balladeers wrapped up rehersal to see the Legendary Hanoi Rocks frontman Michael Monroe on his Dead,Jail,Rock and Roll Not Fakin’ It Tour. He was everything I expected, a true talent that gave 1000%. ..Fast forward up to NYC 1995 while my band was rehearsing next to Johnny Thunders Band (Alison Gordy, Jamie Heath,Sami Yaffa) and Sami Yaffa asked to produce our debut album “Antique Wine and Roses”, of course Sami invited Michael in to blow some harmonica on a few tracks. They tell me I look like Razzle, something I never forgot and either did my Hanoi friends. Now we meet again, as Michael Monroe will kick off his U.S. Tour 9/30/11 at the Trocadero in Phila., which I will be hosting supporting his new album “Sensory Overdrive” produced by Jack Douglas(Lennon, Aerosmith, Trick) . The phone line was crappy to Helsinki Finland but we caught up for a little less then a hour about ‘ol times, Hanoi Rocks members, how he misses Razzle, his NY Dolls connection, some side projects he loved and some he wished never happened, who’s in his life these days including Lemmy… Sit back and enjoy my interview with my friend “The high energy youthful one, Mr. Michael Monroe because with out him you wouldn;t have a ANY of those 80’s Glam bands, they stole from Hanoi Rocks!!..This man should be HUGE!! xoxo..BAMBAM
