Preston Elliot has been waiting since August 20, 1983 to meet this man. It was that day when a young drummer from St. Louis went to his second ever rock concert – Def Leppard’s Pyromania Tour – and his passion for live music was born. “I play a lot better now,” Rick Allen exclaimed after hearing that story!
Rick is in town for a different type of tour this weekend, he is bringing his artwork to the Wentworth Galleries around the area (Hard Rock Casino AC on Friday, Mall at Short Hills on Saturday & King of Prussia on Sunday).
From pioneering ripped jeans to life altering accidents, the gang left no Def Leppard stone unturned. How does the band feel about the fans selecting them to be join Rock ‘n Roll Hall of Fame Class of 2019? “I think we may have been left out a little bit,” the drummer says of the band’s prior snubs. “[The fan vote] to us was the most important thing. It wasn’t necessarily a bunch of guys sitting around a boardroom table deciding who’s in / who’s out; it was really about the fan vote!”
