Marc Summers is an icon of a generation. You may know him from his time hosting Nickelodeon’s DOUBLE DARE and Food Network’s UNWRAPPED, or as the Producer of hits like DINNER: IMPOSSIBLE and RESTAURANT: IMPOSSIBLE, but now you get the chance to meet the real Marc Summers – a man who’s led a fascinating life of fame and frustration.

THE LIFE AND SLIMES OF MARC SUMMERS is a guided tour through Marc’s life, from an early obsession with magic to his notable television career to his appearance on Oprah announcing his ongoing battle with OCD. Marc stars in this tell-all about his life, his disorder, and taking the physical challenge.

Double Dare Turns 35! Look Back at Preston & Steve's Best DD Moments

At 5:30pm on October 6, 1986 the first episode of Double Dare premiered on Nickelodeon. That first run of episodes was filmed right here in Philadelphia at the WHYY studios, and, if you grew up near Philly in the 80’s there’s a good chance you knew someone or knew someone who knew someone that was on the show. 

After moving the show to Universal Studios, kids across the country dreamed about the chance of getting slimed until the show’s initial run ended in 1993. Some kids never let go of that dream, like those of us here at The Preston & Steve Show. That’s why we convinced Marc, Harvey & Robin to reunite in Philly on 93.3 WMMR for Drunk Day Double Day in 2008. It was a smashing success, and quite the mess, so we didn’t know if we would ever hear from our childhood game show idols ever again.

Turns out, they loved us! Thirteen years, multiple Camp Out For Hunger: Double Dares, Know the Shows, and infamous Philly Beer Week: Dunkle Dares later, we’re honored to be a small part of the Double Dare history.
