New Castle County Libraries Charity Food & Sock Drives

The New Castle County Libraries is hosting two charity drives:

1. AFSCME Local 459 Needy Family Fund – Food Drive
   All NCC Libraries are collecting non-perishable food items to support families facing financial hardships. Most food drives wrap up around Thanksgiving, but this one continues a bit longer, which is perfect for donating any unused, unopened non-perishables. The drive ends Friday, December 19.

 

2. Charity Crossing – Sock Drive for People Experiencing Homelessness
   One of the most requested items in shelters is socks — they wear out fast when you’re walking long distances in harsh weather with limited access to laundry. New Castle County is partnering with Charity Crossing to collect new socks, along with new gloves, hats, and scarves. Donation bins are at all NCC Library locations. This drive ends Monday, December 22.
