Pierre’s Weekend Calendar: April 26 – 28, 2024

April 26 - April 28

Good Day, Good Citizens! Each Friday after the Presidents arrive with their decaf coffee and Dave Edmunds serenades us with “Here Comes The Weekend”, the weekend can officially start. With the weekend ahead you might need something to do. I, Pierre Robert, run down an extensive list of things happening in and around the Philadelphia area. I call it Pierre’s Weekend Calendar. Everything from concerts to go to (A Great Big Pile of Leaves at the Underground Arts on Saturday), movies to see (Challengers, rated R), events (small and large) to partake in, and always what is going on here at WMMR.

Some things are fairly standard (like The Philadelphia Show), some are totally bizarre (like the World Oddities Expo), and to be honest, for some of this stuff, I don’t have a clue as to what they are (like Heavy Metal Meditation). Hopefully, this guide of, some of what is going on in a fine village near you, will help keep you busy this weekend. Who knows, maybe you’ll even catch me at one or two of these events this weekend (please stop and say hi if you do).

Namely, raising funds to help support and bring more awareness to the compassionate, crucial, and life-saving services that @savagesistersrecovery provides to members of the Philadelphia community struggling with and recovering from Substance Use Disorder. * Yoga and live music are both powerful vehicles through which people can heal, gain a deeper understanding of themselves, and simply get out of their heads and be present. This event combines the two. * During this event, Deb Cohen will be leading an accessible, all-levels, all-welcome Yoga class set to live heavy music immediately followed by a live Sound Bath. * MONKS POND will be performing and providing the live soundtrack for the Yoga class that will be geared towards quieting the mind and creating space in the body to allow people to find presence while being bathed in sound. Once the Yoga flow is over and everyone is settled in comfortably, members of the band will provide a live Sound Bath to further deepen the experience with sound, and complete the sonic journey. * Essentially, this is an event where people's participation helps others by helping themselves. Yoga is a tool for better understanding and connecting to self so that we can be of service to something greater than ourselves. * ☆ 𝗦𝗣𝗔𝗖𝗘 𝗜𝗦 𝗟𝗜𝗠𝗜𝗧𝗘𝗗 ☆ * 𝗙𝗼𝗿 𝘁𝗵𝗼𝘀𝗲 𝘄𝗵𝗼 𝘄𝗼𝘂𝗹𝗱 𝗹𝗶𝗸𝗲 𝘁𝗼 𝗮𝘁𝘁𝗲𝗻𝗱 𝗯𝘂𝘁 𝘄𝗮𝗻𝘁 𝘁𝗼 𝘀𝗸𝗶𝗽 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗽𝗵𝘆𝘀𝗶𝗰𝗮𝗹 𝗽𝗿𝗮𝗰𝘁𝗶𝗰𝗲: 𝙔𝙤𝙪 𝘼𝙧𝙚 𝙒𝙚𝙡𝙘𝙤𝙢𝙚! * Special Thanks to the Event Sponsors: @bhavawellness @grindcorehouse @pennsport_barbershop @missrachelspantry * Art by @evanvoid * For more info: ᴘʀɪᴍᴏʀᴅɪᴀʟ-ɴᴀᴛᴜʀᴇ.ᴄᴏᴍ"
