Check out details below for their June 20th Take Steps + Virtual Event.
Initially scheduled for June 7th. The Crohn’s & Colitis Foundation released this statement about the event and other plans:
We hope this message finds you and your loved ones healthy and safe. Everyone on the Take Steps team has you and your family in our thoughts. We recognize this is a challenging time for so many and that the country is dealing with a lot of uncertainty. We also know that this is a particularly challenging time for our patients and their families and we are working hard to ensure that the IBD community has the latest information on COVID-19. As the situation will likely continue to impact the IBD community in evolving ways, we are continually updating the patient guidance on our website.
The welfare and safety of IBD patients and their caregivers continues to be the Foundation’s top priority. To that end, we have made the decision to postpone the Philadelphia Take Steps walk from June 7th to a later date this year. Our new date is in the process of being finalized and will be announced shortly. (Please Note: We are closely following all CDC, World Health Organization, and local health authority recommendations regarding travel and public gatherings for our community and we will make adjustments as the situation warrants.)
In addition to holding our postponed Take Steps walk later this year, we will also be adding a Take Steps + Virtual event experience in the meantime! Take Steps community members from around the country will gather together virtually throughout the day on June 20th, 2020 starting at 9am PST. We are so excited for this unique opportunity to gather together while staying safely apart. Please continue to read our emails and like us on Facebook and Instagram as we continue to share details over the coming months.
We are beyond grateful for your continued involvement and support of the Foundation’s life-changing mission and we wish you and your family the best during these challenging times.
