Wawa Celebrates Annual Hoagie Day Tradition with Hoagies Served at Noon to Salute Everyday Heroes and FREE, All-Day Admission to the National Constitution Center

Thursday, June 27th beginning at noon

WMMR’s Preston Elliot and Casey Foster Join USO, Voices of Service, Local Fire & Police, PA Army National Guard and PA Air National Guard in Salute to our Service Members.

As part of Wawa Welcome America, Wawa is inviting Philadelphians and hoagie lovers from across the region to take part in its great hoagie tradition—Hoagie Day! This year will feature hoagies made with seven tons of ingredients along with a celebration dedicated to honoring our military, veterans, fire and police, our everyday heroes, and The Wawa Foundation’s ongoing partnership with the USO. During the event, Wawa will distribute 15,000 free turkey hoagies to the public beginning at noon!

Highlights of Hoagie Day will include:

  • Doubleheader “Hoagies for Heroes” competition emceed by WMMR’s Preston and Casey. Police officers from Philadelphia’s police districts and representatives of Philadelphia’s Fire Department will face off in a hoagie-building competition to benefit charities of their choice. Members of the PA Army National Guard and PA Air National Guard will then go head-to-head to benefit the USO. Wawa will make individual contributions of $3,000 to the charities of all four teams.
  • Check presentation to the USO for $900,000 from The Wawa Foundation’s in-store fundraising campaign.
  • Special closing performance by Voices of Service, a group of veteran performers who, under the umbrella of the Center for American Military Music Opportunities (CAMMO), elevates and empowers service members, veterans, and military-connected families through music.
  • USO Campaign to Connect QR codes will be displayed onsite for individuals to share digital messages of gratitude and encouragement to service members.
  • FREE Admission all day to the National Constitution Center (10:00 am – 5:00 pm) courtesy of Wawa in honor of Hoagie Day and our everyday heroes including an historic exhibit on Wawa through the years
