Who’s Lou? No really, who’s the Lou guy on Preston & Steve?
We here at The Preston & Steve Show love the opportunity to play movie clips when listeners with certain names calls in. All the Richards (Tommy Boy), Garrys (Weird Science), Sandys (Grease), Bobs (What About Bob) and Leons (Midnight Madness) know what we’re talking about.
In early 2021, we had a Lou call in. There have been many Lous before him, but none quite like this Lou. The first time he called in we obviously played the “Who’s Lou” clip from A League of Their Own and he loved it. He repeated it back to us in his loud raspy voice and we had a short “Who’s On First” type moment. And we immediately fell in love with Lou.
Slowly he began calling in more and more. About once every other week or so. The stories he shared were normal (for our standards) but then out even those began to get out of control. Driving for the mob, running away to Hawaii, so much craziness.
While we were enjoying his calls on air, Lou was adopting the tagline for his life away from the radio. With some help from his kids, it became his Instagram handle: @imwhoslou. He’s living the Who’s Lou life.
