FLASHBACK: Preston’s Meets his Drumming Mentor, Carmine Appice

The year was 1980-something. A young Preston Elliot was just learning his back beats and diddles. Kenny Knight didn't exist yet. The book Ultimate Realistic Rock Drum Method by Carmine Appice was Preston's bible. He studied it every day, making notes and annotations. It shaped him as a drummer.

Fast forward to 2016, Carmine Appice came into the studio and the former drummer of The Image, future drummer of Saint and future Hall of Fame Radio Host brought in his "bible" to get signed. A special moment for both men. Listen to the interview and scroll through the images:
