This may have been the craziest Day #1 in Camp Out For Hunger History.
It started with Porch, a brand new house band, lighting up the Philly Pretzel Factory Stage. We were by welcomed Philabundance CEO, Loree Jones then Jeff Walton came by with the Phil-A-Trunk totals. Then ACME Markets revealed the pinpad totals: you donated over half a million dollars to kickoff the week!
That’s just the beginning. To celebrate Rockyfest happening in Philly December 3rd-8th, we threw our own (unofficial) kickoff. The Rocky Run Relay pitted two Rocky’s recreating moments from the movies.
We barley stepped away from the ring when the Upper Darby Marching Band came threw the doors belting Stevie Wonder’s “Superstition”. They were served as the intro and outro for NBA legend, Jameer Nelson.
More donations from The Landis Theater, Victory Brewing, Families Behind the Badge Children’s Foundation, and Leidy’s. And the morning wrapped with a call from Kevin Smith teasing his appearance at Camp Out on Thursday.
