It was a great Easter at Sumerduck Dragway. Gary Pritchett runs the track record at 3.97!
For Gary Pritchett this year is a Memorial year as his Dad passed away last November. Some of his Dad's ashes went into the parachute for one last ride. For years The Bunny and the Boys Racing Team heads out to celebrate Bunny Burkett at this event. Bunny always drove in Easter Sunday Funny Cars. She passed away in 2020 at 74.
She was an American Alcohol Funny Car driver. In 1986, Burkett became only the second woman to win a national title in a professional class, following Shirley Muldowney. She began racing in 1968 and rose through the ranks of the sport. and in 1986, she won the IHRA Alcohol Funny Car world championship. She also won several NHRA national events during her career.She was i and thenducted into the International Drag Racing Hall of Fame in 2004 Motorsports Hall of Fame of America in 2016.

Sumerduck Dragway
The track is located at 14027 Royalls Mill Rd, Sumerduck, VA 22742. The track is open on Saturdays and Sundays from April to October. Admission is $15 for adults, $10 for seniors and military, and $5 for children 6-12. Children 5 and under are free.
Sumerduck Dragway offers a variety of amenities for its guests, including a concession stand, a gift shop, and a camping area. The track also has a full-service repair shop that can help with any racing needs.
