Had a Visit with the Ferko String Band!

CONGRATULATIONS on Joe’s Boy’s The Legendary FERKO STRING BAND on their 100th Anniversary Strutting in The Mummers Day Parade!! Always great stopping into their Club House! Not too many Mummer Clubs can say they had a Top 5 Record in The Billboard Top 100 but Ferko did in 1955 with “Alabama Jubilee”! They Rock!!

Here’s some pics from The Ferko Banquet w/ President Scott Ratzke Sr. And Captain Anthony Celenza presented by Rep. Joe Hohenstein, council member Mike Driscoll, and State Rep-Elect Pat Gallagher with replica street signs of their newly named street, Joseph A. Ferko Memorial Boulevard. They are hung at Bridge & Almond streets. The neighborhood is so proud ! So happy for their members, past and present, and hearing all of their great stories about this amazing organization with such a rich history. Keep it going boys and All The Best with Freeze The Day on New Year’s! Give them hell! Thanks for allowing me to be a honorary member of The Joseph A. Ferko String Band!!
