W.A.S.P.

W.A.S.P. was formed in Los Angeles, California in 1982. The band's name is an acronym for "We Are Sexual Perverts" or "We Are Satan's People," depending on the source. The founding member and lead vocalist of W.A.S.P. is Blackie Lawless.

W.A.S.P. gained notoriety in the 1980s for their controversial lyrics and stage antics, which often included elaborate stage shows featuring pyrotechnics, fake blood, and other theatrical effects. Some of their most popular songs include "Animal (F**k Like A Beast)", "I Wanna Be Somebody", "L.O.V.E. Machine", and "Wild Child".

Over the years, W.A.S.P. has experienced multiple lineup changes, with Blackie Lawless being the only consistent member. The band has released over 15 studio albums, including their self-titled debut album in 1984, which included their controversial hit "Animal (F**k Like A Beast)".

W.A.S.P. has been cited as an influence by many bands in the heavy metal and hard rock genres, and has continued to tour and release music to this day. While their controversial lyrics and stage shows have drawn criticism from some, they have also gained a dedicated following of fans who appreciate their theatricality and heavy metal sound.
