Here we are, Day #3 of Shiprocked 2023, our first chance to get off the boat and enjoy some beach time at the extremely beautiful Half Moon Cay in the Bahamas. While we are at port, there are no live performances taking place on the ship. However, we had some cool performances from SR'23 bands on the beach! Most of the bands on the boat joined us on the beach to rock out, chill out, and enjoy some pina coladas! Look at that water!

Shiprocked Day #3 Lineup

Dropout Kings on the Pirate Ship
There were quite a few bands I had never heard of before that were on SR'23 this year, and my goal was to see as many of them as possible! The Dropout Kings from Phoenix, AZ were definitely one of them! The band had amazing energy as they rocked the Pirate Ship stage at Half Moon Cay.

Beach Hangs in the Bahamas

Wargasm
Once we were all back on the boat, British electronic duo Wargasm rocked the stage. If you saw Limp Bizkit on their last tour through the area, these guys were one of the openers.

Grandson
Grandson brought it and then-some with his second performance of the trip, this time on the main stage. I love when performers use the whole stage and even climb on some things, it really adds to the energy of the show.

Dustin Bates of Starset
I ran into Starset frontman Dustin Bates many times over the course of the cruise. Even though he and his band weren't scheduled to perform on SR'd this year, he said he was on the ship to watch and support his friends while gathering some thoughts and inspiration for the new Starset album which he is in the process of writing. He even wrote a couple of songs while on the boat. Pretty cool!

Keith Wallen of Breaking Benjamin
The Atrium stage was the place to be night after night for some of the best and most impromptu performances. Keith Wallen of Breaking Benjamin was definitely one of them. The views and vibe in the Atrium were amazing.

The Stowaways
One of the coolest features of Shiprocked is The Stowaways. A band that is made up of other bands members, most of whom aren't playing on the ship, playing other bands songs.

Giovannie and the Hired Guns
SR'23 day #3 wrapped with a packed performance in the Lounge by Texas-rockers Giovanni and the Hired Guns. WMMR played their hit single 'Ramon Ayala' heavily when it first came out last year. Their late-night performance was the perfect end to a perfect day of beach, sun, fun & MUSIC!
