Did you feel that rumble? So did we. Philadelphia and the surrounding areas experienced a 4.8 magnitude earthquake on Friday around 10:25am EST, and 6ABC reports that it was centered near Whitehouse Station, New Jersey.
Preston & Steve were live on the air at the time of the earthquake, and WMMR listeners from all over the area texted in to let us know that they felt it, too: from Cherry Hill to Doylestown and a few people streaming from as far north as Boston felt the tremors.

The details around the event are still developing, and we hope that wherever you are, you’re safe and sound and didn’t experience any damage from this quake. Pierre Robert, who arrived on the air shortly after it happened (and didn’t even feel it, because he was driving on the highway at the time!) decided to have some musical fun and play a few songs to get you movin’ and shakin’ in his Friday sweat set on WMMR.
The last time that Philadephia experienced and earthquake of this magnitude was in August of 2011. It registered at 5.8 on the Richter Scale, and even though it stemmed from over 200 miles away Virginia, it did cause a bit of structural damage in our city.
