I was jonesing for a cheesesteak the other day in Delco and decided to stop by Delco Steaks right off RT-420 in Folsom. I had been going to that location for years when it was Charlie’s Hamburgers but had yet to be there since Delco Steaks took over that site. I got the Classic Delco Cheesesteak, chopped and with Cooper Sharp cheese, “wit-out”, this time. It was bangin’, and I highly recommend checking it out!
In the decades that I had been going to Charlie’s Hamburgers at that location, I had no idea they had a miniature golf course behind the building. Apparently, the course was abandoned for quite some time before the new owners, Delco Steaks, came in and rehabbed the piece of land into what is now called “Delcoland”.
John McKenzie and Nick Reynolds, both from Delco, opened the Folsom location of Delco Steaks in 2021 and along with it opened “Delcoland”. An 18-hole miniature golf course where each of the holes represents a different town in Delco. From Springfield, to Havertown, to Ridley Park and beyond, each hole had a super cool mural above it with all sorts of classic and popular landmarks specific to each town represented. The Upper Darby hole of the course stopped me dead in my tracks with its mural, and I had to take some pictures, which you can check out below.
Delco Steaks & “Delcoland” are open Monday through Friday 11a-8p and Saturday & Sunday 10a-8p. Miniature golf is $5/pp and $2 all day every Tuesday.
